KOSE Sekkisei Herbal Gel Review

A sleeping mask is something I wear to sleep every twice a week. When I was still in Indonesia, it wasn't hard to get Japanese skincare brand. It's available in most big department stores chain all over Jakarta. This sleeping mask is one of my favourites, and I'd love to share the reason to all of you.

At first glance, you might think that the packaging looks too simple?

It might be, but blue is the colour of loyalty and trust. Unconsciously, you might think that this product looks trustworthy and pretty good. Well, that's what I thought tho. :)

Kose Sekkisei has 3 key ingredients which are Melothria Extract, Angelica Extract and Coix Seed Extract. Melothria Extract is good for skin conditioning and contains antioxidant properties. Angelica Extract can be used to treat various skin conditions, makes the skin look clearer and softer. It's surprisingly can clear some acne effectively as well.

Coix Seed or Hato Mugi is a popular ingredient in Asian skincare products. It has an anti-inflammation and cooling effect that are excellent for our skin.

Overall it works with 6 benefits for our skin
  • Moisturize
  • Retexturize
  • Anti-inflammation
  • Enhance radiance
  • Firm up
  • Reduce dullness

I hear that this gel can be used alone as an emulsion, serum, cream, massage gel or a sleeping mask. I have tried applying the Gel as a cream and massage gel, but the best for me is as a sleeping mask.

The reason why I fancy this herbal gel is basically because of the texture. I'm not sure how to describe it, but it looks like a translucent cream. It feels moisturising on the skin, not greasy at all. But it depends on how much cream you've put on your skin tho.

I often use this gel before I go to sleep. I apply a thick layer of cream as a sleeping mask every twice a week, and the following morning, my skin looks healthier and better! It helps to clear some acne as well.

Now that I have no more of this product, I feel shame for not stock it before I move to the UK. I didn't know it'll be exclusive to get this product here. I found one seller on Amazon who sells this cream, but it's a bit pricier than what I used to spend.

I'm thinking to ask my sister to purchase it for me if she'd come to the UK. That'll be better. lol

Now, I use other skincare brands, but I can't tell about the result yet. I'm still fighting with the breakouts, and to be honest, the products that I'm using now probably helps a little bit.

Ever since I moved to the UK, my skin breaks out badly. I'm not sure about the trigger yet, but I guess it probably because of the weather and water. And because my lifestyle has changed a little bit here, my body metabolism also changed. I don't do exercises like the way I used to do anymore, so it gives some effects to my skin as well. I hope in one or two months I could have a more active lifestyle again.

In conclusion, I'd recommend this product if you're looking for a good sleeping mask. I have combination-dry and sensitive skin, a little bit oily on my T-zone and dry on my cheek area. If your skin is super dry, you could put a bit more cream as a sleeping mask, but if your skin is oily, you could put it moderately.

Some people asked me to compare it with Laneige, but I only had tried Laneige sleeping mask twice, so I can't give a distinct review about it. I have finished 2 bottles of Kose sleeping mask, so I have experienced with this product better.

Well, it's my experience tho, I can't guarantee that this product will suit your skin. So, use it with your own risk. However, I can't stop praising this product and wish I could get it as soon as possible!

Love,

Comi
