Why You Should Try Perfume Samples

As a perfume lover, I’ve found that having samples on hand is essential before committing to a full bottle. When it comes to buying perfume, you can’t just rely on a quick sniff in the store or a few moments with a tester strip. Scents evolve over time, and it’s important to live with them, experience how they interact with your skin, and see how they unfold throughout the day. That’s why I always take my time with a fragrance before making a decision.

I make sure to let the scent settle and see how it changes from the initial spray to the dry down. This process allows me to fully appreciate the complexity of a fragrance and decide whether it’s something I truly love. It’s a ritual that ensures I never regret my purchases, even when I occasionally indulge in a blind buy. By now, I have a clear sense of the types of scents that captivate me, so I trust my instincts when something catches my eye.

Exploring new fragrances is one of my favorite things to do, and having those little samples feels like opening up a world of possibilities. Each one is a new experience, and by taking the time to really get to know a scent, I make sure that every addition to my collection is a scent I genuinely love.

That’s why when I discovered perfume decants while living in England, I was so excited. It was during the COVID times, and with so much time on my hands, I dove deep into exploring perfumes. I never knew I could purchase a small portion of the perfume in a tiny bottle—offering a real experience at an affordable price.

I prefer to buy samples or perfume decants (if available) first rather than going straight for a full bottle, just to avoid later regret. I’ve learned that I can actually live with a decant for quite a while, especially since I only spritz a little each time, just enough to explore the scent. This way, I get to indulge in my passion for fragrance without any regrets, savouring each scent and truly enjoying the process
